Passing of F. D. “Del” Combs

It is with great sadness that the family of F. D. “Del” Combs announced his passing, peacefully at the age of 86, after a short battle with an illness. He was the CEO/owner of F.D. Combs, and Associates, Inc., a management consulting firm engaged in nationwide training and consulting in the areas of management development, human relations, organizational development and total quality leadership. His clients included Chrysler International (TSD - Tritec - Brazil), the Southeastern Association of Community Action Agencies, the U. S. Department of Health and Human Services, Department of the Navy, Army, Ichikoh International Industries, Hartford Life Insurance Company, Nike (via TSD), and Georgia Department of Human Resources.

Del developed SEACAA’s Certified Community Action Management Program (CCAMP) training program to promote high educational and professional standards in the fields of community involvement and management. He worked with SEACAA leadership to launch the initial training session in February 1991. The original CCAMP charter group graduated in February 1993. The CCAMP program was originally designed for managers but later expanded to offer a second certification track for service providers. Since its inception in 1991, the CCAMP program has hosted nearly 10,000 attendees.

Del thoroughly enjoyed developing and refining the CCAMP program. He took great pride in the program’s growth and accomplishments over the years and in building personal relationships that lasted decades. "Del" was a favorite trainer to the thousands of attendees who would always rate him a "5" out of "5." He will be greatly missed.
